One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 29, 2008

By John Cussons | July 29, 2008

Ah, back to familiar surroundings. Missing one day at my regular spot to hold my 'One Man Breakfast Business Meeting' disrupts my daily routine. The Monday closing is taking some time to get used to.

So my new pattern will be 6 days here and one at the outdoor cafe spot. I'm getting my head around that. Do you have daily routines? Tell me what happens to you when something breaks the pattern. Leave a "Comment" and we can start a dialogue about it, OK?

I have to spend time this morning before I can get at any business, moving data from my C:\ drive to my F:\ drive to allow my computer to run more efficiently. I figured out that this might be the cause of some of the 'crashes' and 'reboot' challenges I am experiencing. I am currently running at less than 15% free space on the C:\ drive which is a NO NO!

One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 28, 2008

By John Cussons | July 29, 2008

As my regular spot to hold my 'One Man Breakfast Business Meeting' is closed on Monday's I have been going to Croissant Express on the Lakeshore where there are tables outside and a good breakfast is available for under $7.00

A sparrow (I think) landed atop the back of the empty chair across from me. As it looked at me from the side of its head, back and forth, I invited it to join me and partake of my delicious meal. It chose not to and swooped down to the sidewalk to pick up a few crumbs I dropped there for it.

I took the time (which is rare) to commune with this part of nature. I thought about this bird's existence for a few minutes. Interesting place to go.

One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 27, 2008

By John Cussons | July 27, 2008

How much do you spend on batteries? I'm was all set to listen to an mp3 recording of a teleconference about Social Bookmarking and my player was dead - I listened to another call yesterday and I guess either this thing eats batteries or I need to buy premium ones? Any comments? LOL

Fortunately, I live up stairs of the Oak Tree restaurant where I conduct my 'One Man Breakfast Business Meeting' and just ran 'home' to get another battery. Had I not been able to do this I can tell you that I would have berated myself for not checking in advance and/or not planning things out.Are you hard on yourself too?

I have to constantly challenge my 'Anal' behaviour and lighten up. I also struggle with seeing the 'grey' between 'black' and 'white' thinking. It's 'right' or it's 'wrong' is my normal mentality. Sometimes I can be so boring and dogmatic. How about you? (Please tell me I'm not alone :)

One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 26, 2008

By John Cussons | July 26, 2008

Wow, yesterday was one of my most productive days this year, only challenge is to act on all the new ideas generated! LOL

Today's 'meeting of my mind' was to spend some time reviewing my last 5 days 'daily' list of things to do, and recompiling the list. I am a list maker for sure, sometimes, well most of the time, creating multiple lists and going crazy trying to keep up. Are you a chronic list maker? How to maintain control? I'd love it if you would post your methods to "Comments" to help me out.

I am looking now for a laptop computer to take with me where ever I go so that a lot of the ideas and thoughts that inevitably pop up during my One Man Breakfast Business Meetings can be entered directly to my computer rather than duplicate my efforts when I get back home! This is insanity Surprised

His “Last Lecture” made Randy Pausch ”Imortal” - Died Today July 25, 2008

By John Cussons | July 25, 2008

He died of complications from pancreatic cancer at age 47.

I came to know of him watching Oprah and I will tell you that I was moved to tears throughout his appearance. Randy Pausch was a 'Human's' human, a soul who saw and faced his impending departure from his worldly existence with the utmost beauty. I am moved beyond words and won't usurp his moment in with telling you of my feelings and emotions.

This video tells it all for me and I hope you will watch it to get a glimpse of the man, Randy Pausch

One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 25, 2008

By John Cussons | July 25, 2008

As I was having my 'meeting of my mind' since I am the only person attending the 'One Man Breakfast Business Meeting' I took stock of what I have my fingers in today, what things I am currently doing to generate income, what things am I involved in.

WOW! I am one busy guy! And by doing this I realized why I can get stressed out and overwhelmed some days. I have enough work on the go to warrant a staff of 2 maybe even 3, but alas I am a 'one man band' for the moment multi-tasking and working long 'enjoyable' hours toward my goals.

For the post today I would like to list the 4 biggest areas I am working on and a brief outline of each, so here is that short list….

One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 23, 2008

By John Cussons | July 23, 2008

This morning was a shorter meeting of my mind as I am still overwhelmed with all the data I am processing from my trip last weekend to Chicago. Just to state again how powerful and wonderful it was for me.

I can't remember if I mentioned that I do a "Happy Dance" whenever something good happens to me, and I do several a day! The "Happy Dance" I refer to comes from the T.V. commercial for the Ontario Lottery Corporation's ad that depicts winners 'Dancing' after a windfall. It's a blast, I literally get from behind my desk and 'Dance' around my living room. It's exhilarating, you should try it Cool

I took the time this morning to go through all the business cards I had collected on my trip. Most had notes on the back that I had written shortly after getting them about the 'connection' we had made and points that I wanted to expand on when I communicate with them next. An unexpected benefit…

One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 22, 2008

By John Cussons | July 22, 2008

I'm back! Hello to one and all. The Oak Tree restaurant is closed on Mondays so the "One Man Breakfast Business Meeting" didn't happen yesterday :( But I am back and on track again until at least the end of July when I am going to Orlando Florida for another Internet Marketing Live Event…more on this later.

This mornings meeting of the mind was productive. I learned just before convening the meeting I had earned some income while I was in Chicago this past weekend, $23.50 and $127.00! I immediately did my "Happy Dance" in celebration. This doesn't quite cover my travel expenses but it is one heck of a start and I am so excited! :)

I took some time to reflect on all the good things that happened while in Chicago, and I hope that you will continue reading to hear that I…

By John Cussons | July 19, 2008

Good morning to you all,

One Man Breakfast Business Meeting for July 17, 2008

By John Cussons | July 17, 2008

Goodmornin', it's 9:30 am and I am all packed and ready to go to Chicago for the weekend! Just finished my One Man Breakfast Business Meeting at the Oak Tree Restaurant, 2 eggs up, sausage and decaf coffee and I'm anxious to get going…get picked up at 10 am.

Eight short months ago I went off my psychiatric medication and haven't looked back. I hadn't been able to hold down a job for very long over the previous 10 plus years. I am on a disability pension, (meager) as a result of having bi-polar mood disorder. (More on that some other time)

Why am I going to Chicago and how is this even possible?
